This beautiful, devotional song was written by my dear friend, Shawna Carol. She and her husband, Tom Cobb, asked me to record it for their album, "Chant Magic". I sang all the vocal parts and played the guitar. I remember standing in front of a gorgeous thankga of Tara, singing each lyrical line over and over with all the different harmonies, feeling so much love it brought tears to my eyes. Tom and Shawna sat nearby in their basement recording studio on Kauai, all of us sharing the sacred moments. It was an honor to sing this song with an open heart.

I first fell in love with the guitar at age 8. My Dad taught me how to play a single note version of "Bile Them Cabbage Down" on his old Harmony guitar. The action was so high you could slide a small paperback book under the strings.

Life took many turns and led in other directions, but finally, in 2008, I bought a brand new Martin OM-21s and started composing simple solo pieces in open tunings. ... more
